Vertical Computer Systems Inc. Announces Official Launch Date of Its US Bridge for Oct. 7, 2000; VCSY Increases International Presence With Expansion Into U.S.A.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 2000--Vertical Computer Systems Inc. (OTCBB:VCSY) today announced the official release date for the launch of its third portal -- theUSBridge.com slated for October 7, 2000. This follows VCSY's launch of theChinaBridge.com and theBrazilBridge.com earlier this year.

The Company's e-commerce strategy is on target to develop a series of portals in conjunction with strong partners in the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim.

The English-language portal will offer web users a search engine written with VCSY's proprietary MLE (Emily(TM)) Markup Language Executive, free proprietary e-mail, online chat and forums, customer accounts, real time news and games. Web-based telephony and personal information management systems are included as well. Earlier this year VCSY signed an agreement with Net2Phone (NASDAQ:NTOP) to implement and market Net2Phone products and services through the Company's portals. In August this year VCSY signed an agreement to acquire the license to the source code for WebAddressBook, a Web-based information management system for individuals and businesses from WebAddressBook.com

The US Portal will incorporate a number of unique features including quicker access to URLs, search engine speed and functionality and an uncluttered user-friendly interface.

Concurrently, VCSY will upgrade its China Bridge and Brazil Bridge portals to offer consistency in the general design as well as the products and services offered.

"The launch of the US Bridge is a major step in our expansion program. It continues the trend of the establishment of national portals so that we have the mechanism to distribute our products, services and technology to huge potential audiences. Furthermore, we anticipate the US Bridge to be a major revenue generator for the Company," said VCSY's President Richard Wade.
